Welcome to TriSuccess Multisport Coaching

It can be a daunting task to figure out how to swim, bike and run and still have a career, spend time with your family and friends and keep your life in balance.  We know because we have done it.  With strong motivation, good planning and an ability to keep it all in perspective it can be accomplished.  It is a lot easier to do with the support of a good coach, someone who can keep the big picture in sharp focus and put the many details in perspective.

Meet the Coaches…

Coach Kathleen Johnston

I worked as a research scientist for 20 years while at the same time training to be a competitive age group athlete at the National and World level.  I began coaching part time after earning by USAT Level I coaching certification in 2001.  In 2006 I started TriSuccess and turned to coaching full time.  I have attended numerous coaching education seminars and events and recently achieved a Level II elite coach certification with USAT.

I coach because I enjoy helping others achieve their goals.  I enjoy sharing the knowledge I have gained over several years of training and racing with those who are just getting started in multisports, and with those who are ready to reach for the next level – be it in distance or speed.

As a coach, I stress the importance of an athlete’s overall well-being.  I encourage a safe and healthy training environment to help you avoid injuries and over-training.  I also emphasize a positive training style and the importance of good sportsmanship.  Surround yourself with winners and you will be a winner!

In addition to the physical aspect of training and racing there is the equally import mental toughness aspect.  I can help you overcome mental barriers by showing you how to focus on the process of racing and not the outcome of racing.  This mental adjustment most often leads to better performances.  Consider the quote attributed to Henry Ford, “Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re right.”  A good coach will make sure you know you can!

Coach Caroline Butler

Having spent many years training and racing, my coaching experience began in 2005 when I started a youth triathlon training program to introduce my children and their friends to the sport.  From that experience I became a firm believer that the fundamental skills of each sport are the foundation of a good training program and that training must be enjoyable.  My training plans include technique drills to improve swim, bike and run efficiency and they emphasize safe, incremental increases in volume and intensity when appropriate.

I enjoy coaching youth, adult newcomers and seasoned triathletes.  I understand the complexities of training while raising young children and encourage my athletes to be flexible and positive when faced with circumstances outside their control.  Whether you need a program for a season of racing or a program to get you on the road to lifetime fitness, I can help!
